8th Grade Dance Information

Hard to believe but we have one month left till the 8th grade dance!

8th grade dance invitations went home with your student on Tuesday, May 1st.

The invitation is in a green envelope, so please ask your child to share this with you.  It has some very important information including the permission slip which will need to be returned to their 1st period teacher by Friday, May 18.

4 key points regarding the dance:

  • It is not too late to send in a monetary donation. Please consider sending a check in when you return the permission slip.  All money collected will be used to help cover the cost of entertainment, decorations and food.  Although there is no ticket price, a $5-20 donation is suggested and is tax-deductible.  Checks should be made payable to “Moody Middle School PTA” with “8th Grade Dance” and your child’s name in the memo section. Your cashed check serves as your receipt for tax purposes.
  • Please visit the link to the sign up genius to volunteer your time and/or refreshments for the dance. We are also looking for gift cards to be donated as prizes:

  • Because of security restrictions, we can only allow those adults in the school who are on the volunteer roster (even for pictures). Please make sure you have a volunteer form on file in the office.  The volunteer form can be found here:

These need to be submitted the week prior to the dance.

  • Lastly, this dance is one of the last fun opportunities the 8th graders have to be together. The members of the PTA dance committee have worked hard to provide an evening filled with dancing, food, games and prizes.  Please encourage your student to attend.  This dance does not require that they attend with a date, in fact, we are not promoting that they do so.
