Sunday Message 2/25

Good evening Moody Raiders,

This is a reminder that Thursday, March 1 is a half day with dismissal at 12:10 p.m.

This week follows a Day One, Day Two pattern. Monday, Wednesday and Friday periods 1, 2, 3, and 4 will meet. Tuesday and Thursday periods 5, 6, 7 and 8 will meet.

As a reminder, the cut off time for an early dismissal is 2:50 p.m.  This time was chosen by teachers and staff to cut back on classroom interruptions and to allow front office staff enough time to check IDs, check the “authorization to pick-up” list, and locate your child. Please make ever attempt to adhere to the cut off time.

Attention parents of 8th grade students: The 8th grade dance is Friday, June 1 and we need your help to plan this event.  The next planning meeting is Wednesday, February 28 at 7 p.m. at Gayton Library.  The 8th grade dance is free for all 8th graders, but we are asking for monetary donations to help plan a memorable event.  Please send a check (made out to Moody Middle School with “8th grade dance” in the memo line) to your student’s homeroom teacher.  If you have any questions, please email Susan Lionberger ( or Lisa Morse (  Thank you!

Attention parents of 8th grade students: Economics and Personal Finance is a required course for all high school students. Longwood University will be hosting an informational interest meeting for a dual enrollment personal finance and economics course on Tuesday, March 27, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. If you are interested in earning college credit in a condensed summer course, this course will meet those needs. To get more information on the dual enrollment personal finance and economics course, please, attend the interest meeting on March 27 at Deep Run HS or Henrico HS in the school’s auditorium.

That’s all for now. Let’s make it a great week!
